Academic Policy for Daffodil Institute of Science & Technology (DIST)
The academic policy of Daffodil Institute of Science & Technology (DIST) is designed to ensure a high-quality educational experience for all students. The policy sets out the expectations and standards for students and provides guidance on the academic procedures and processes of the Institute.
II. Admissions Requirements
To be admitted to DIST, students must meet the minimum admission requirements set by the National University of Bangladesh. These requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and satisfactory scores on standardized tests.
III. Attendance Policy
Regular attendance is mandatory for all students at DIST. Students are expected to attend all classes, laboratory sessions, and any other required activities. Absences for illness, family emergencies, or other unavoidable circumstances will be taken into consideration. In cases of excessive absences, the Institute may take disciplinary action, up to and including suspension or expulsion.
IV. Academic Progression
Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 to remain in good academic standing at DIST. If a student’s GPA falls below 2.0, they may be placed on academic probation and required to attend academic support sessions and/or meet with their academic advisor. Continued poor performance may result in suspension or expulsion from the Institute.
V. Grading System
The Institute uses a letter grading system, with grades ranging from A to F. Grades are assigned based on a combination of coursework, exams, and other assessments as determined by the instructor. The Institute follows a strict policy of academic integrity and any instances of cheating or plagiarism will result in disciplinary action.
VI. Academic Integrity
DIST expects its students to uphold the highest standards of academic integrity. This includes honesty in all coursework and exams, as well as proper citation of sources in written assignments. Any instances of academic dishonesty will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including suspension or expulsion.
